Black History month is celebrated in October each month. However, we at GMB Race say that Black History month is everyday.
Black History month is a time to celebrate and focus on the achievements of black people both in the past the present and also the future. It is a time for reflection on how far we have come for hearing race is always on the agenda.

Although BHM began in the US and is celebrated in February each year, in the UK however it began in 1987 by Lambeth Council taking the lead.
BHM now encompasses the history and achievements and offers reflection of Africa, Caribbean and Asian people who have a direct link with the UK through slavery, colonialism and migration.
"Everyday is Black History Month, 'we are here because you were there' is what unites those work & struggles we honour and celebrate. Solidarity."
