On the picket line: Charlton Academy

GMB represents over a hundred thousand members who work in schools. Our schools staff members so an absolutely crucial job in supporting kids at school and in keeping our schools system running. It is absolutely beyond the pale that anyone would attack their terms and conditions. Members were taking action over changes to sick pay that would, in the words of our regional organiser Colin Smith, leave members having to "to choose between paying their bills or eating meals" if they are off sick for more than a couple of months.
There was a real spirit and solidarity on the picket line - there is no doubt GMB was making our voice heard!
